2019 Championship Circuits
'About' Whilton Mill
"Whilton Mill first began Kart racing in 1991. The first karts were off road versions as the first circuit was on grass! The racing itself took place around the small field that is now the 450m Mill circuit. With increasing interest, a permanent, concrete track was built in early 1993. The karts moved to a more recognizable design with the purchase of a fleet from Stratos. As karting became more popular, the facility was later floodlit. This extended the compay's operating season through into the winter months, making Whilton Mill a year-round business.
With the new permanent track established, enquires from owner drivers began to increase and having seen the limitations of the small circuit, planning permission was applied for a larger complex; and so the National circuit was opened in 2000. This quickly extended into the 1150m International Circuit in 2007. As well as a thriving owner driver kart club, complimented by on-site shop and race teams, Whilton Mill now hosts a range of private and corporate events and is not limited to just kart racing!"
After a break in 2018, the 2019 Junior and National Championships make a welcome return to Whilton Mill for Round 1 on 12/01/2019, racing on the National (Zulus) Circuit.
For R2 of the Junior and National Championships, we return to Tamworth on 23/02/2019 after a break in 2018. Racing on a Saturday afternoon/evening, the majority of the races will be 'under the lights'...!
'About' Daytona Tamworth
"Perfect for corporate events, private parties, and fun race events for both adults and children, Daytona Tamworth is situated just five minutes from Tamworth town centre and less than ten minutes from Junction 10 of the M42.
Within a short driving distance from Central Birmingham, Coventry, Cannock, Lichfield, Leicester, Wolverhampton and Stafford, Daytona Tamworth is the perfect location for your next Midland’s based event.
An exciting 1000 metre tarmac circuit that allows up to 30 drivers or teams to race alongside each other – the GP circuit combines 11 corners with straights of varying lengths and rewards adventurous drivers with overtaking opportunities on both the straights and through the bends."
Covkartsport returns to Ellough Park, another circuit we missed in 2018, on 17/03/2019 for R3 of the Junior and National Championships.
Covkartsport will visit South Coast for R4 of the Junior and National Championships on 14/04/2019 - our first visit there, and if the BRKC have raced there, then for Covkartsport, it should be a great track for our drivers.
'About' South Coast Karting
"South Coast Karting opened on April 1st 2017. After a relocation and re-brand from their old circuit. A family business run and managed by father Ray and two sons George & Jim Lovell.
South Coast Karting really is run by racers for racers. With a huge history in motorsport behind the Lovell Family.
A circuit used in 2018 for a BRKC Event, although o short track, it is technically challenging, and requires patience and skill to do well in races."
'About' Sutton Circuit
"The unique layout of Sutton's twists and turns underwent several evolutions during the planning stage. Using influences such as the never ending curve at junction 2 of the M69, the track evolved into a form that would make the most use of the small land space it had to operate within.
What emerged was a challenging, technical circuit which would put experienced drivers to the test and still provide thrills for the unacquainted. With the intimidating turn one requiring a bold approach and the final corner demanding you hang on to your kart, Sutton has built quite a fan base with a reputation of a small track that feels way bigger than it actually is."
R5 of the Junior and National Championships will be held at Sutton on 19/05/2019, with the Junior Championship returning there for R8 on 09/09/19, running the reverse layout.
GYG will host the 2019 Covkartsport Open Championship on 16/06/2019, which is also R6 of the Junior & National Championships.
